Salur minyak (fuel lines or pipes) menyalurkan minyak ke dalam sistem. Pam minyak (fuel pump) mendesak minyak dari tangki ke enjin. Sebuah penapis minyak (fuel filter) membersihkan minyak dan sebuah penapis udara (air filter) membekalkan udara yang bersih. Karburator mencampurkan udara dengan minyak dan mengawal kandungan campuran yang memasuki enjin. Pancarongga masukan (intake manifold) menyalurkan campuran tersebut ke dalam enjin. Karburator harus membekalkan kandungan campuran udara-minyak yang betul untuk sesuai dengan keadaan operasi.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Karburator jenis daya bekal (down draught) adalah jenis yang paling kerap digunakan. Ianya dipasang pada pancaronggga masukan (intake manifold). Satu lagi jenis adalah karburator jenis daya simbah (side drought) yang jarang digunakan. Karburator mengubah cecair minyak kepada semburan dan bercampur dengan udara. Ia juga mengawal jumlah kandungan campuran udara-minyak yang dibekalkan ke dalam enjin. Ini dilakukan oleh injap pendikit (throttle valve) yang terletak berhampiran bahagian bawah karburator yang bersambung dengan pedal minyak (accelerator pedal). &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Karburator jenis daya bekal (down drought) ini mempunyai bebola apungan untuk minyak. Satu hujung daripadanya terendam bersama minyak. Satu lagi hujung ialah sumpitan penyahcas minyak (fuel discharge nozzle) di dalam venturi. Semasa piston bergerak dalam keadaan lejang masukan , ia menghasilkan satu kawasan tekanan rendah yang menyebabkan udara dari atmosfera masuk melalui venturi. Venturi mempunyai satu kawasan yang lebih sempit yang direkabentuk untuk memacu udara yang melaluinya. Keadaan yang terhasil sama seperti konsep pada sayap kapal terbang. Bentuk bahagian sayap memacu udara yang melaluinya bahagian atas sayap dan menghasilkan kawasan tekanan rendah di situ, yang lebih rendah dari tekanan atmosfera di bahagian bawah sayap. Kesannya, daya tujah ke atas terhasil seterusnya menghasilkan daya angkat kepada kapal terbang.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Bentuk venturi direkabentuk untuk mengaplikasikan konsep yang sama. Ia menghasilkan satu kawasan tekanan rendah di mana kawasan hujung sumpitan terdedah ke dalam aliran udara. Jadi, tekanan atmosfera pada minyak dalam bebola apungan lebih tinggi dari tekanan di hujung sumpitan. Ini akan memaksa minyak mengalir dari sumpitan. Minyak akan bercampur dengan udara yang melalui venturi setrusnya berpecah menjadi titisan.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Kenderaan ringan di bawah keadaan normal memerlukan nisbah jisim 15 : 1 atau nisbah isipadu 11000 : 1 campuran udara-minyak. Nisbah ini sesuai untuk keadaan operasi enjin. Jika minyak berlebihan untuk udara akan menyebabkan pembaziran minyak dan pencemaran udara. Gas yang panas dan berkembang ini menghasilkan bunyi yang bising. Sesetengahnya pada frekuensi yang tinggi. Sistem ekzos melakukan beberapa fungsi. Ia perlu mengurangkan kebisingan ke tahap yang boleh diterima. Ia juga perlu menyalurkam gas yang terbuang ini dengan selamat dan cukup jauh untuk menghalang gas daripada memasuki semula ke dalam kenderaan. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Gas yang terbakar keluar daripada ruang pembakaran melalui port ekzos (exhaust port) dan melalui pancarongga ekzos (exhaust manifold). Paip yang pertama dikenali sebagai paip enjin. Ia bersambung dengan bukaan luar pancarongga yang menyalurkan gas ekzos ke mufler yang mengurangkan kebisingan ekzos. Terdapat pelbagai gred untuk minyak diesel untuk enjin diesel yang biasanya dijual di stesen yang sesuai untuk enjin diesel berkuasa tinggi termasuklah kenderaan ringan. Minyak diesel mudah terbakar bila disuntik masuk ke dalam silinder ruang pembakaran. Semakin rendah gred minyak diesel, semakin lambat ia mencapai titik penyalaan. Dengan menggunakan minyak diesel yang lebih rendah grednya juga akan meningkatkan bilangan ketukan diesel di dalam enjin.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Bila minyak diesel disuntik ke dalam silinder ruang pembakaran, ia tidak akan menyala serta merta. Ini akan mengambil masa untuk haba udara yang dimampat di dalam silinder untuk memanaskan minyak diesel sepenuhnya sebelum berlaku penyalaan. Tempoh masa dari permulaan suntikan kepada permulaan pembakaran dipanggil tempoh lengah (delay period). Semasa tempoh lengah ini, minyak diesel akan terus disuntik ke dalam silinder. Bila minyak sudak dipanaskan sepenuhnya, ia akan menyala. Pembakaran akan berlaku.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Tekanan secara tiba-tiba daripada gelombang getaran dalam ruang pembakaran boleh didengar di luar enjin. Ini adalah bunyi yang dipanggil ketukan diesel (diesel knock). Ketukan diesel (diesel knock) ini juga boleh terjadi akibat kelembapan minyak diesel untuk mencapai suhu pembakaran.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Semakin tinggi gred minyak diesel, maka semakin mudah enjin yang sejuk untuk dihidupkan. Enjin akan menghasilkan asap yang kurang dan kurang baki minyak diesel yang tertinggal dalam ruang pembakaran. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Enjin diesel juga diperlukan beroperasi pada suhu yang rendah. Semasa suhu rendah, minyak diesel menjadi semakin likat. Jika suhu terlalu rendah, parafin di dalam minyak diesel mula memejal dan membentuk wax. Wax ini boleh menyekat penapis seterusnya menyebabkan kekurangan minyak dan kuasa keluaran (output) yang rendah. Kebocoran in dipanggil 'blow by'. Minyak yang tidak terbakar dan air dari proses kondensasi juga mencari jalannya ke kotak engkol (crankcase) dan lain-lain. Apabila enjin mencapai suhu kendalian, air dan minyak akan meruwap. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Untuk mengelak tekanan bertambah, kotak engkol (crankcase) harus mempunyai liang pengudaraan. Bagi kenderaan lama, hasil pemeluwapan dibebaskan melalui satu salur pengudaraan atau satu saluran ke jalan. Ia dibentuk untuk membebaskan hasil pemeluwapan dari kotak engkol (crankcase) ketika mana kenderaan bergerak. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Kenderaan masa kini pula, gas dan hasil pemeluwapan disalurkan semula ke sistem masukan (inlet system) untuk dibakar. Kaedah yang biasanya digunakan ialah Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV). Injap yang dipanggil PCV mengedarkan aliran gas di antara kotak engkol dengan pancarongga masukan (intake manifold). Ini dikawal oleh tekanan di dalam pancarongga (manifold). Dengan enjin dimatikan, injap ini tertutup dan udara tidak boleh memasuki pancarongga masukan (intake manifold). Ini membenarkan enjin untuk dihidupkan. Semasa keadaan melahu (idle), tekanan rendah di dalam pancarongga (manifold) mendorong injap ke hujung sebelah yang lain. Ini membenarkan kuantiti hasil pemeluwapan yang sedikit melepasi injap tersebut. Pada keadaan bukaan pendikit (throttle) yang besar, kedudukan piston (plunger) injap membenarkan aliran maksimum mengalir , yang memberi liang pengudaraan (ventilation) maksimum kepada kotak engkol.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Sistem tersebut direkabentuk untuk mengalihkan lebih banyak udara daripada 'blow by'. Jadi akan ada udara yang bersih terutamanya pada penapis udara untuk menyalurkan udara yang ditapis ke kotak engkol (crankcase). Masukan ini biasanya sejauh mungkin daripada injap PCV. Bukaan pendikt (throttle) yang luas menghasilkan 'blow by' maksimum. Terdapat dua jenis sistem iaitu pancitan jasad pendikit (throttle body injection) juga dikenali sebagai pemancit satu titik (single point injection) dan pancitan berbilang titik (multi-point injection).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Pancitan jasad pendikit (throttle body injection) menyemburkan petrol ke udara yang melalui pancarongga masukan (intake manifold). Komponen sistem EFI ialah:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Tangki minyak (fuel tank) - ruang simpanan petrol&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Pam minyak (fuel pump) - mengedarkan petrol dan membekalkan tekanan ke seluruh sistem&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Penapis minyak (fuel filter) - membersihkan petrol dan memelihara pemancit (injector)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Rail minyak (fuel rail or pipe) - membekalkan petrol kepada pemancit (injector)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Pemancit (injector) - menyemburkan minyak ke ruang injap masukan (intake valve port)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Tolok pengawal tekanan (pressure regulator) - mengawal tekanan di dalam sistem&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Jasad pendikit dengan injap pendikit (throttle body with throttle valve) - mengawal aliran udara ke dalam enjin&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Penapis udara (air cleaner), s&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;aluran udara (ducting) dan t&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;olok aliran udara (air flow meter) - membekalkan kuantiti udara yang bersih  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Kebuk pengudaraan (surge tank) - untuk membebaskan wap dalam aliran udara&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Electronic Control Unit (ECU) - menerima data dari sensor-sensor pada enjin.
